Attack should work as well
You have officially confirmed that you are my favorite!!!
well. It has been a code issue, so not something I fixed. Barimbu (I think?) fixed it, so he should be your favorite in this case.
(Sorry The coders post rarely enough that I don't always get their board names correct)
Also.
The Twinge of pain issue will be fixed in the next patch. Tribute items are all none/none... which due to a recent change for the race change stuff, made it say you did not match the item races, so you cannot use the item :/
I made all tribute items (tribute effects are hidden items) all/all to fix this.
Being an item, it needs a full server down patch.
I mostly needed an example to run a test. We need to confirm if the "add Damage" adds to the instnat damage part that some dots have as well as to the continuing damage part, as it will go into the math.

Next patch meaning December or the one taking place soon (in November)?
Either way this makes me very very very happy!
nm, I see now in the vets lounge.
In case any were wondering, the tribute will be fixed in the next patch (next week).

the tribute thing in November (next week)
the Type 3... I hope the patch after that... The data you guys gave me let me see what is happening with instantHP and HP on the same spell... and Prathun now has data on how it works to re-do the numbers. We just can't make any more live changes before the patch next week.

This is a fairly significant problem if you are running 8-10 dots and have worked hard to have type 3s for all/almost all of them. If you were asking about tribute as well, Twinge of Pain (dot haste) is currently doing nothing (it is not a stacking issue as I tested without spell haste buff and det haste gear equipped). Many other tribute effects have been reported as being broken since the October patch. So I needed to find some test cases Thanks for the lists I see in this post and have gotten in PM.

I don't mean to bother, but forgot and meant to ask how the progress was on the type 3s. I think you were implying that their fix was also going in the patch next week? I just wanted to be certain. Thanks a ton for the information (and fixes) thus far!
I really can't wait until I get an edit button....
Thanks for the info Ngreth!

The Type3 fixes did not make it for the patch.

Anyone else having issues with instances and mercs? Trying to figure out if there's something wrong here.

Yes, definitely - a L81 druid and L81 cleric merc, plus a L85 shaman could successfully spawn an LDoN instance. Indeed, I've done a couple of dozen that way in recent months.
Once my druid reached L85, I couldn't request instances any more (as the LDoN templates only go to L83). I found a way around it though - by logging off my shaman, logging on my L70 beastlord, inviting him to the group and then logging back to the shaman... that gave 85+85+85(merc)+70(offline BST), which gives an average of L81 - good enough to get an instance! I did a dozen or so missions that way.
Then came the recent changes to mercs and levels for instances. Now the BST gets counted as L0 (as he's offline) and my little group gets a L60 mission instead. Well, it did - I've not done any missions in the last couple of weeks.
would be nice if Ldon's worked at 85 and you didn't have to do any group average trickery to get it to work.
Yes, often taken it with 2 chars + merc

Just last night, I requested and entered Murdunk's Last Stand instance in the Warrens. Group consiisted of Druid+tank merc, plus Beastlord+cleric merc. The script refused to run. Dropped task and fetched it again two more times. Each attempt, request ok, enter ok, stand around for 10 minutes with zero script activity of any sort.
New issue or not, dunno. Haven't tried this instance with this player/merc arrangement prior to last night.

This is normal. You need 3 players inside the instanced zone for the event to start.
I can confirm that even without a merc in your group, trying to take some instanced tasks causes the window to pop up, and no amount of clicking will let you enter the instance or the normal zone. This occured for me on Bloodmoon Keep instanced tasks. Also, the confirmation window reappears inside the instanced zone if/when you are let into the zone, and doesn't disappear for about 15 seconds.
Also, possibly related, dying while the confirmation window is up seems to cause the entire client to become unresponsive and unable to be terminated from windows task manager, even with admin priveleges. This only happened one time so its only anecdotal and possibly coincidental.
Both of these bugs occured while running 2 clients on 1 machine.

2 players + Merc still having problem about getting into the instance.BUT,keep pressing the "YES" button will eventually get your group into the instance. Was trying to do the FoS Progression mission #1 "Audience with the Warmaster",frustrated in unable to enter instanced Kurn tower.Pressed the YES button about 30 40 times wished there will be some miracles and whola, you are inside of the Kurn tower(instance version). So,if this bug still exist in 11/11 patch, there should be a warning in the patch note about this issue and telling people keep pressing YES will solve it.
Also worth mentioning, the instance server has been very slow to respond on multiple occasions since Sunday. So it's possible the problems people are experiencing with Mercenaries has more to do with slow instance loading. I've had it happen to me off and on every day since Sunday - minus today as I only logged in briefly so far. If the task succesfully can be requested with Mercenaries then they might not be the cause of the problem. I don't know that for a fact, so by all means keep testing, but I've had multiple instances take 5 minutes or more to load without a merc even being involved this week. Including MMs, Guild Hall, DoD and SoD group tasks and last night 1 SoD raid.
Assuming this hasn't already been covered, I believe it to be a new bug. I was doing the Korafax task Kill the Shearspawn and had invited a level 83 player to a group consisting of 3 85s and 1 merc. I had already done the mission before and the 83 had logged off but did not disband. If I tried to request the instance I received the error "Your group does not meet the requirements for any available shared tasks." So unless something was changed with required flags (whole group?) to obtain this instance having an offline character blocks the group. He wouldn't have been added to the task with the old behavior but I still should have been able to request it because the group still met the minimum requirements. Disbanding the offline player allowed me to request the task.
