While i have run into some nice quests and nice loot along the way my complaint is the chain and the healing items.

As a shaman  the chain is usually  melee specced no wis on it (no wis/sta preferred) and the healing stuff is all leather for most part, i havent seen any good healing chain, and 1 piece of healing plate , this after 60-70 quests etc. So for a better word , healing stuff for plate and chain healers is needed.

And on a similar note, there's no brawler/melee warden armor. I've done all the Kylong quests I could find, and several Fens quests, and I've seen (no exaggeration) ONE leather reward with "melee" stats on it. The quest rewards in general are great, with nice stats and interesting effects. Why not make them available to all classes?

The Faction Merchant  in Terens Grasp also is not stocking any "Healing stat" Chain armor but has plenty of non wis/sta chain, kinda disappointing.

No plate healer items either, I am 3/4 of the way through the Fens quests and I have seen one Plate item with heal stats on it, everything is Leather! All the Plate is for Tanks and the Chain is apparently for Scouts.

Same here.  All my tank friends are going ga-ga over the gear from the solo quests.  Saying it rivals their fabled gear.  I'm a Templar and I have not found much gear that I want to replace my Fabled stuff.

Echoing this statement.  I just am pissed off now that when they do change it, if they do.... we are screwed because we already did these quests SMILEY

I echo this and suggest a healthy amount of the new stuff when made(plate and chain healing armor) be put on faction merchants as well (tons of faction merchants around).

I am also concerned about the lack of healing chain in the kylong plains quests. So far I have only found one piece out of a fens quest, and haven't found any suitable faction items. Has anyone seen anything for shamans and brawlers in the higher levels, or is it this way throughout the expansion?

Erm .. i've absolutely not seen any tank stuff that is worth wearing it.

Mostly i see cloth gear, or leather gear with WIS/INT so nothing for my melee warden, and they chain i saw till now for me mostly looked as if it also hat more wis/int on it then melee stats.

Heh, I'm getting a set of cloth together for my bruiser.  RoK cloth has got all the str/sta you want, and pretty darned good mitigation for a nightgown.

The itemization for the solo quests is really annoying.  There are some really nice leather healing items, but hardly any for plate healers and none for chain healers (excluding jewelry of course).  I don't really want to wear chain melee dps gear, this may work for a mystic since they are more melee oriented, but defilers tend to be more balanced between melee and spell damage.  It would be nice to see the quest rewards expanded a bit to offer chain and plate healer pieces as well.  If this trend carries over to instance legendary and raid fabled ... all non leather healers will be getting the shaft this expansion.  Hey SoE ... not every healer is a druid.

So far I am still wearing my EoF chain armor for soloing, but have started wearing the leather healing pieces in groups.  I have gotten a couple of promising legendary chain healing pieces, a part of the defiler/mystic legendary set. I should be able to start wearing it in a few levels. One confusing thing is my chain pieces also list a templar as the intended user of the set, when one would expect them to have a separate plate set.

The devs apparently feel that shaman and clerics don't need the extra mitigation from armor other than leather...

This is a quote taken from EQ2 Flames by Fyreflyte, an associate game designer

The reason you're seeing so much caster leather this expansion is because I felt it would be pointless to create every single piece of priest armor in triplicate (leather, chain, plate) when all 3 types could wear leather, and generally had little use for the extra mitigation of the higher armor types. Thus, the majority of the priest gear I created was leather so that all priests could make use of it.

Guess they expect the chain and plate healers to whip out those root spells they don't have or those super fast casting heals they don't have either to compensate for losing the extra mit   I mean, it's not like shammies or clerics ever get aggro on incoming, right?  SMILEY

SOE, dismiss the responsible for ROK itemisation developper. There is practically NO gear for hybryd classes and non-druid healers, rok epic sets for most classes just blw, you neeed to redo all the itemisation for 70-79 lvl gear, we finally need something that fits our classes!

As a curiosity question, how often do you find yourself in a situation where you require the mitigation from chain/plate over leather? Does this arise in raids? Groups? Soloing? How much of an effect does it have on the damage you take per hit?

As I also mentioned in another thread on this, you'll find more healer chain and plate in the higher level itemization.
