"Dear adventurer,

It is my sincerest hope that this letter reaches you in haste, for time is of the essence in the matter I must speak to you of..."

Greely Manor... years ago, it's residents all fell victim to a terrible curse.  As history begins to repeat itself, it's up to you to venture inside the ancient walls of the house and discover just what is behind the recent disappearings that have taken place there.

To solve the mystery, you'll need to check the broker for Chapter I of "The Mystery of Greely Manor".  Inside the book is the first part of the story, along with instructions on how to play and where to go to find the next part.

There are 12 chapters to the story, along with various journals and newspaper articles.  Chapters are broken up into story parts and hidden object parts, as well as occasional puzzle and extra reading parts.  As you finish each chapter, a hint will be given as to where to look for the next part.  Though there's really no stopping you from going whatever path you please within the old house, it is advised you follow the directions outlined in the books for better continuity.

If you choose to take part in this little adventure, you will notice as you advance that you will be earning various amounts of points for the different tasks you complete.  You will earn points for completing each chapter, for each object you actually find within the incorporated hidden object game, as well from finding several super-secret items hidden very carefully throughout the manor.  There are 400 possible points (unless I added them up wrong which is always a possibility lol).  If you like as you go along, you can keep track of your score and then post it here when you are done for fun.

Below are photographs taken from within Greely Manor, showing just some of the mansion's many rooms:

So this started as just another remodel of my house but, being the impressionable person I am, I got inspired after playing through a series of Hidden Object games called Mystery Case Files and decided to try to do a similar thing here after I learned about the player-written book system.  I wrote the story in about a week, hopefully it's not too painful to read through lol.  I'm not really up on EQ2 lore so there's not a whole lot incorporated in to it except for place names and Norrathian months.

All hidden objects have been checked and double-checked to make sure that they can be found, but let me know if there are any errors with anything and I will look into them asap.  Also, let me know if the broker price of the first chapter seems about right, as I don't want it to be too expensive for people who want to play but need to start up new toons on the server to do so.  I want to make this as fun as possible for those who actually want to play through this lol.  There was a lot more I wanted to do, but I fit in as much as I could before running out of both space and item count. SMILEY

Thanks for reading and whether you just want to go visit or go solve the mystery, I hope you enjoy!!

Greely Manor can be accessed through Wisty's Manor, 8 Erollisi Lane, South Qeynos, Najena Server. SMILEY

I am impressed with your idea.  I'll be looking forward to reviews of the story.  Right now I have far too much to do with GU52, but I love mystery games and yours sounds like an excellent one.

Great looking place too.

This is a great concept and I believe I have space to make an alt and check this out at some point.  I'm always up for a decorating adventure.

Definitely dig what you have done - using the wantia simple beds as railings - too friggin cool looking. /steal idea.

I have to say that's the first house the SC furniture looked good in. All the others it seems sort of out of place to me.

Very cool!  How much did you have to spend for all the SC furniture though to make them into panels?

Aerfen- Hehe way too much that's for sure..   Used the 300 SC dining room cabinets, and probably about 20 or so of them total to finish.. very happy with the end result though!

Hmm how to begin....

I logged in and spent pretty much the whole time I was online in 'Greely Manor' aka Wisty's house at 8 Erollisi. We are talking hours. One word came up almost immediately - WOW.  By the way, that same word came up over and over and over again.

This is probably the single coolest thing I have ever seen a player do in any game...ever. Ive played online games going back to MUDS. Then graduated to EQ1 and the list goes on and on... SWG, Horizons, City Of Heroes, WoW, Vanguard, WAR and EQ2. Dont get me wrong, theres always been creative events put on by people and guilds - treasure hunts, nekkid halfling and gnome races across the lands, trivia contests...hell once in SWG, we had a fishing contest since the fish had weights and sizes and I won second place! Woot!

But all of those, which did make the games they were in a little more fun in every respect, are eclipsed by this. Wisty, you did a friggin stupendous job. The amount of work and time you put in to everything, the creativity you displayed, the attention to detail - astounding.  WOW! There I go again.

The house - 5 room Qeynos house. Totally transformed. You put an insane amount of thought and planning into it. I can only repeat - WOW. Ive been messing around 5 rooms for a while and literally said at one point - 'where the hell am I?' I wont say where because I dont want to ruin it, but believe me that statement was in complete respect for how you transformed that place. WOW.

The quest - Hmm....what's the word...OH YEA! WOW!. This is exactly what the designers should have hoped for when they were sitting around the table thinkin up stuff to add to the game and decided on player-written books. I love how you set it all up and how after the quester located things, you then continued with the story and the clues. I spent a TON of time in the foyer, I didnt know your thought process in the beginning (later I was looking at everything differently ), but I finally found everything. I believe this room is the first time I cursed out loud. Friggin bows. Evil. WOW. You were also not kidding when you said you will have to change camera angles...I think I wore out my mouse wheel in your house more than I do decorating other houses.

The story was great and guided you through out the house. I loved the side books and the bonus books - never found the first and not sure if there was a fifth Ill leave that at that. I was incredibly absorbed in completing each book - I did take 2 breaks (1 forced, I got stuck behind a bowl in the garden. Gnome persecution I tell ya. The other because my friend Dinone/Wazeau/Tanatia/Miseree/Sofenne {the alt queen!} finished the beginning of the Solstice earring quest and could make the robe, which was my last needed peice. So I went back and she made me one, then I returned to the house right after...lol as I right this, I still havent finished the earring quest...)

Now, I hope I conveyed how cool this whole thing was. If not, just say WOW about 30 more times and you'll get it

To the people who are from Najena - get a book from Wisty off the broker for 25 silver. At the time I got mine, there were 18 Go to 8 Erollisi and visit Wisty and just do it!

To the people who frequent this board not from Najena - make a good character, get to Qeynos and follow the above

To the Devs - same, make a character on Najena, get to Qeynos and do the above. This is one of the best examples of seeing your idea for player written books taken to the best result.  NOTE: This house better be displayed on the web site. This idea should be showcased as well on the website. Its that friggin good.

Welp, thats my review. Awesome work, Wisty. You should be happy with the result of your labors!

What an awesome idea.  It's definitely worth me reactivating one of my old "dead" accounts just to create a critter on Najena.  The pictures are amazing and from what I'm reading, they don't do it justice.
