  • You know, give us the 100% crit chance 3 month ride that SKs got.
  • Or we accidentally can use poisons for the next 3 months.
  • Or we could get proc craziness like rangers had for a year.
  • You know, so we sit 1K dps above what we currently are, you know, like conjurors inexplicably are?

SOE, I know you want to fix us, probably make us DPS but you cant do that because we are tanks.

But you cant make us tank better than hunks of metal like warriors, because that makes no sense.

So do something accidental. Breaks happen. That way, youre not held responsible, but you get to see if the community accepts it. Heck, it's only a game. It's not there's any real accountability. Make all these brawlers [I cannot control my vocabulary] and break us.

LoL that would be a horrible idea.  When they fixed the ranger proc bug they fixed them too well and the rangers were worse off than before the proc bug went in.  It took them a few months to tweak again and some would say they still need more tweaks.  The end result for me personally was that i had to retire my favorite class for a long time until they could get the tweaks back in.  Incidentally i started a monk and it is still hands down my favorite.  SMILEY

Or maybe one day the brawlers could grow up and stop whining like a bunch of spoiled brats...

Better idea Sony:  turn them all into Troubs... muhahahahahahahahahahaha

I dont play a brawler but I can say that I group with one consistently. He is one of the best tanks I have played with in the game. He hasnt had a hard time holding aggro or dishing out the dps. Granted this is in group instances and content but we can do everything in KoS without issue (other than the 70^^^ dragon for HQ, need more healing to augment him I think). I am sure that is vastly different in the Raid content, isnt it always?

I rolled a brawler last night to check them out for myself. Can someone tell me the erceived specific deficiencies of the class so I can watch for those things as I level this toon?

many thanks=

Funny you should suggest that.  I think most monks like me hold on to their toon because they like the "idea" of the class, not the abilities they actually possess.  Thus, we hold out hope that SoE will one day fix all of the massive problems with the class.  We "whine" because the class needs changes far more than any other class in the game.

However, if SoE made a statement that they were satisfied with the monk class and had absolutely no intention of providing improvements, I would gladly accept an offer to switch to a new class (even a troub) so long as they provided me with equal quality gear.

Another brawler thread?  Come on.  I hope Grim or someone locks the [I cannot control my vocabulary] out of this.

Actually you won't notice any deficiencies for a very long time. Brawlers are downright awesome until you hit 70 and then you will hit a brick wall. That is the problem and that is why brawlers are PO'ed all the time. Immagine putting in all that effort to get to 70 only to find out the class is useless. Just take a look a this thread on how fairly new brawlers react to hitting the wall:

the brawler in our guild is just awesome, out dps's some scouts and is a great off tank and back up tank, and fd for the win

all these brawler posts are from peeps who don't know how to play their toon.

I think you've missed my point... which was:

(a) What does this topic have to do with the fourm it's in

(b) Do you really need three different threads on the SAME THING.  I don't understand that mentality that says "Hrmm.. the dev's didn't respond to the first two threads.. let's start yet ANOTHER one".

I've had brawlers sucessfully tank many raid mobs.. with the current setup.  There is nothing overly wrong.. sure I think there should be some basic changes, BUT.. once you stop to think about what those changes would entail, you start to realize it's not a trivial thing to fix.

Thanks for the link. So if what I want is a top end toon that can handle solo and heroic content, brawlers are one of the best classes in the game HOWEVER if I have the intention of taking that toon into raid content it is probably not a good choice, correct?

I wouldn't say best in the game, but very capable for solo/heroic stuff.  Raiding, especially EOF is where things fall off.

As to the one who said they have a brawler in the guild that can out DPS scouts, then shame on the scouts or the raid leader making up the groups.  Other than bards, a brawler will not out-dps scouts with players of equal skill and gear.  And you are right ... the top monks in the game don't know how to play their class and "the brawler you know" (TM) does.

Possibly, but given the fact that this thread appeared right after a post in another thread that someone tried to hijack and turn into a brawler thread, I'm not about to apologize.  There are two HUGE threads on the first page of this forum about brawler issues.. why start YES another one (and try to hijack a forth!!)..   Hell given all the bruiser and monks who have 'quit playing the game' I'm surprised there's even 4 of you left to complain SMILEY
