70% of the time a Master chest dodges the smart loot code. Making it more like "mostly dumb" . . . loot code.Personally, I think the rarity of Master chests should be more than adequate already, and that Smart Loot should impact more like 80% of the chests.
Unfortunately, I am not going to fix the master issue with one zone. It was never the intention.

i'm totally against smart loot, its more dumbing down of the game IMO. Is RE2 the only place with this smart loot on masters?
there is a massive problem with 71-75 masters, as said above, there are even servers where not even all have been discovered yet more than halfway through the expansion, that is the lowest drop rate of masters ever in eq2 history and even in t5 the masters dropped more frequently, which makes zero sense, because masters of other levels drop left and right and you cant even sell them because there is such a flood of them.
that is the lowest drop rate of masters ever in eq2 history
I'm pretty sure the drop rate at launch was much worse...you could spend days in Blackburrow or Stormhold without seeing any masters drop whereas masters drop like candy at those levels nowadays...also I think the DoF expansion still has a lower master drop rate than RoK...
The problem in RoK isn't so much the drop rate but more the level range at which the masters drop. Prior to RE2, the only decent place to get low T8 master's was KC but it is a huge waste of time (at least until GU47) to farm there so you'd have to be really desperate (and have a few desperate friends) to try to farm masters there...
Smart master loot is kind of a joke. Assume you have 6 people with no duplicate classes in your group, not abnormal. You already have a 25% chance for a master to drop that someone in the group can use. With this zone we have 30%. Unless the code is actually checking your spell book to see what you already have scribed, its a pretty insignificant "feature".

Assuming that every class has exactly 30 T8 spells with a uniform distribution of dropping and that you're in a group with 6 players all of different classes, then when a master spell drops, the chances that someone in the group can use it are...
If noone has any masters:Totally Random = 1/4 = 25%30% Smart Loot = 0.3 + (0.7 * 0.25) = 47.5%
If everyone is missing half of their masters:Totally Random = (1/4) * (1/2) = 12.5%30% Smart Loot = 0.3 + (0.7 * 0.125) = 38.75%
If everyone is missing only 1 master:Totally Random = (1/4) * (1/30) = 0.83%30% Smart Loot = 0.3 + (0.7 * 0.0083) = 30.58%
As you acquire more masters, the advantage of having 30% smart loot over a purely random drop increases substantially.
What ?
You're actually going to tell me that there are REALLY Master Chests out there in Runny2 ?
