I agree with this. The instances are very nice and fun to play, but the game lacks of enough people to get a group. You need quite some time to get a group going on some servers, there is not enough people and that hurts an expansion based on group content (expending 1 or more hours a day trying to get a group going isnt very fun or wise if you want to keep people playing the game). Server mergers or more advertisment (to get more people playing) is a must to let people enjoy the tso group content.
So far the greatest problem i see with tso or any expansion is that some servers have very low population.

I play on Kithicor and I hear all the time from people about how they can never find groups on my server. But I have never had that problem, I tend to log on and advertise a few times that I am LFG while checking broker, or running a solo quest, most days with in a few minutes I have a group. If not I then just form my own group, it sometimes takes 20 minutes to get enough people but unless I'm trying to find a healer at 2am est I've never had any real trouble getting groups together.
Not saying that the server populations aren't a problem, but I think too many people try to find a group and don't try to create a group. And for those that do create groups they get too focus'd on taking optimal groups. I have run(and completed) nu'roga with a Gaurdian(dps), Paladin(dps), SK(tank), brusier(dps), assassin, and defiler, which really is not an optimal group. I have cleared Najena's Hollow Tower with a 5 person group, one healer, and one being a lvl 75. These are not great group setups by any means, but I am more interested in trying to clear the zone then waiting for the perfect group. Been doing this since TSO launched, usually run 2 - 3 instances per night.
This is with my instance geared 80SK.

I agree with all of the highlighted statements. I really enjoy the instances but I am burnt out on trying to get and start groups. Even if you start your own group, it is difficult to get enough people to do even the easy instances since the people don't even want to hang out unless the group is optimal. Last night, a group going to Scion would not take the warlock or summoner lfg because they wanted a scout dps.
How stupid is that? First, Scion is easy and you don't need scout dps. Second, there are a ton of muliple mob encounters that could use a conjuror.
My guild has 8 accounts in it.
Count 'em, 8
We do TSO instances. Not REGULARLY, but we do them.
I would have to agree with what some othere here have said.....the TSO Instances are fun...but the frustration of forming groups for them is ruining the fun.
I am in a guild that has people that group often and even still we can barely form 2 TSO instance groups during the week...usually there are enough for one good group then the rest are left with a group that is either lacking the needed classes or have to be extremely picky as to which instances to run. I can only imagine how rough things must be for people not in guilds.
While I applaud TSO for providing challenging group content...I believe the went abit too far with requiring perfect group makeup....as well as catering the majority of the TSO content to specific skill sets....i.e AE..both for DPS and tanking...that leaves alot of us out.
As a Guardian I am even futher limited in group construction given the heavy AE nature of TSO.
I think for me that TSO overall has turned out to be a major dissappointment.
I do not see myself sticking with this game much longer considering all there is to do for the next year+ is TSO and TSO at least for me has become more frustration than fun.
i told you not to get it.
but noo... noone listens to the wise man.
children will do as they please, until experience teaches them otherwise.

Give solo players a slow way to gather shards. I would be totally happy with a "once a week" quest that gives a shard or a repeatable solo instance with a very low chance of getting a shard as a reward.

FYI: Stay tuned for the Shard of the Day solo quest, with some additional solo content. Cannot say more, but keep your eyes peeled for GU52.
Kander: While I think that you adding solo content to the game is awesome, and i'll definately be doing the quests myself, I think it should be reconsidered that they offer Void Shards, as in the Shards that reward the Legendary/Fabled gear.
Introducing a special type of shard that rewards suitable treasured gear that would generally be useful fo soloists as they progress up to the harder content would be a lot better. It doesn't have to be junk at all, but hear out my fear.
What you're doing by introducing yet another shard quest into the game is making the shard gear in itself more easily obtainable for people like myself who do like to group, and then the raiders. What happens? The content doesn't last as long, the replay value goes down, the armor is aquired quicker.
You can compensate for this by introducing treasured set armor, maybe even appearance armor on top of that, that requires a special token, and the solo quests

I have to agree, that bringing in a way to obtain shards solo will make the task of getting them even faster for groupers/raiders.
I am not a hardcore player when it comes to hitting the instances but I still find the I am gaining shards much faster than I anticipated.
However...
rather than limiting the soloists to treasured items, I believe they should have access to the shards.
What we do need is more reasons to gain the shards. This will add more playability in the long run than limiting the means to gain them.
A wider range of items available for shards would be great. (And , i suspect, that plans are already in place for a broader range of items)
Unless I"m misunderstanding what Kandar posted, this sounds like it would be a *One* Shard for *One* Day quest, not a solo quest for all the instances. I don't see too much of a problem with that, honestly. If you absolutely cannot get an instance group, you can at least get the one shard. *shrug*
True. But for those who do groups regularly, and are trying to skyrocket through the content, it's one more shard added to their total. If items cost ten? Well, it throws off the value a little bit. Not a lot, but a little bit.

I have to agree with this dont just give peps who solo just treasured items ( I dont solo very much at all )
If a person does solo they should have the same chance to get shards just like a group BUT dont make it to easy is all i ask for.
Best way that I can put it:
Supplement, don't compliment.
If you compliment, you make the gear easier to get overall.
If you supplement, you keep the current system, which works fine, in place, and add an extra benefit to soloers.
