As a caster Im really worried about the Wicked Wand of Malice
With all the hate changes and dehate buffs nerf SOE needs to adjust this item so it doesnt = death for any caster that uses this at all, because right now I just dont see how ANY tank will be able to keep agro off ANY mage that uses this ever. I understand SOE might not want this to be used all the time but after thse changes I dont see how any mage will EVER be able to use it.
Please fix this item by reducing the threat increase amount to balanance the loss of dehate and hate transferr buffs so a mage with this item doesnt become the best tank in the game, and alot of us with this item are forced to NEVER be able to use it ever again.
Please fix in conjunction with the fighter and buff hate changes, THANKS!

Agree. This item is not balanced within the context of the new hate amounts.
OMG I completely forgot about the hate crit stuff. Please, oh please, address this! I have a feeling I'm going to be dying enough WITHOUT using my clicky I don't want this to be a sure thing!

everyone seems to forget that tanks get increased aggro tools with the lu too...
What everyone seems to forget is that this increased "threat" does not scale with debuffs. So yes, tanks may taunt for 4k now, and that may crit up to 5200 . . . but look at the flip side of the coin.
As an Illusionist, my "primary" nuke lists as 2400 damage, castable every 2.5 seconds or so. A tank taunting for 5200 every six seconds may be able to keep up with that. But, what happens when the mob is debuffed?
In raids, my 2400 damage nuke averages 4600 . . . and I've seen hits over 6k. Debuffs aren't going to turn that 5200 into 10k.
It also doesn't take into account procs. Sure, I'm averaging 4600 damage on the nuke, but I'm also procing at least 2 things in addition to that 4600 . . . Wicked Wand of Malice being one of them.
I generally have: Obsidian Chaos, Greater Void Bane, Praetor's Strike, Fury of the Void Walkers (when it's finally fixed), Malefic Fury, Act of Survival, Greater Goblin Bane, Tandem, Aria of Magic and Precision of the Maestro.
So, a single nuke, for me, is often a series of 3 - 7 individual strikes. Let's say I proc: Malefic Fury, Obsidian Chaos, Void, Praetor, Act, Aria and Precision . . . 4600 + 500 + 1400 + 200 + 1500 + 1200 + 500 + 1000 + 1000 = 11900 threat . . . and I average just a bit less than 1 spell per second.
All hate transfers are now gone, save Coercer which took a serious hit. Troubadors de-hate is now 8%, versus the previous 34% . . .
There are a ton of little things that are going to all come together here. The more of them we can get looked at and fixed prior to the LU, the better. The WWoM is one small part, but an important one.
You mean, this item might actually make mages pull aggro, which means they can't use it 100% of the time on anything hard when tanks start missing and resisting?

Fact is this amount was set when other things were taken into consideration, im just asking for the amount to be reconsidered to go with current hate changes. I dont see that as too much to ask.

IMO leave it as is.
Look at the fighter item from SoH, its even more situational than this will be if it is not changed. The scout items that drop are not situational, they are outright useless. The healer ring is the only one left that is useful to someone a decient amount of the time.
Even if they DO change this to be less or no hate gain they'll probably change the damage output to accomodate for the changes. So the choices are learn how/when to use the item considering the hate gain was probably meant to actually be detrimental to begin with or deal with a nerf, thats my guess.
you can't counter the aggro produced by the item? don't use it. till the changes any class - even fastcasters - could use this without any worry. now you will have to think twice - perfect & the way the item should work.
leave the hateproduction, but up the dmg a bit to make it worth for those classes able to counter the hate produced.
Shouldn't this be put in a thread in the Test forums? And make it a thread with all items that have hate effects on them, so the Devs can look at them all... atleast ones that players are worried about.
That said, I do think that item MIGHT need an adjustment, just remember that all tanks are getting MAJOR changes to thier ablity to generate Non-damage hate, so it no longer is just one taunt every few seconds... not that it ever was. Plus just cause the hate transfers are not changing does not mean they are all doing nothing... the Swash Transfer can now give the Tank 15k hate every min or so, granted that needs an increase(lowering the recast), but that is another hate generator for the tank... though the biggest thing IMO is to get ride of Aggression and just make taunt unresistable like they where befor, that would adjust for thier lack of debuff effect.

A better idea would be to simply put taunts on mental resists.
