So I`m deciding on joining the PVP ring. I wanted to know what would be amongst the top classes to play ? Keep in mind I`m either going to be playing a Mage or a Scout. I`m open to sugestions , opinions, advice and all forms of comments.

-So if you could point wich you think is the best Mage and the best Scout. (one of each, and why?)

-Wich are the worst in each class, the absolute no no one. (and why)

-Feel free to give out advice, Thanks !

Any class is good in good hands.

But for a newer player,

For a scout, either brig or swash...good survivability/dps/track/evac

For a mage, coercer/illy/warlock/wizard   Enchanters get mez, wiz/warlocks get Manashield.

That about sums it up right there.

As an illusionist, you have the best utility of any mage, so you'll be wanted in groups a lot.

Templar/Inquisitor, with the right gear you cannot kill them. (doesn't mean they can kill you though)

Enchanters are great.  Illusionists and Illys are both wanted in PvP groups and PvE.  They provide CC, damage, and utility.

Illusionist:

  • Better utility for melee classes
  • Provide buffs such as Illusionary Arm which allows 1 group member an increase in Melee/Ranged Double Attack by 25% (It can be attained from the Illusionist AA line)
  • Have a buff that increases the casting, reuse, and recovery speed of any 1 group member (It can be attained from the Illusionist AA line)
  • Have an Attack Speed buff that costs 1 concentration
  • Have a reflect buff
  • Have a Illusionary Pet that is pretty much a copy of your character with your profession spells a little dumbed down, costs 3 concentration
  • Hands down better utility for classes altogether than Coercer
  • Do most of their damage through procs
  • MY recommended class to duo with: Ranger

Coercer:
  • Better utility for healers
  • Provide buffs such as Coercive Healing.  I don't have my game up right now, but it pretty much makes your healers more uber (It can be attained from the Coercer AA line)
  • Have  Charm spells that charms mostly anything, costs 3 concentration
  • Have an DPS buff that costs 1 concentration
  • Overall better DPS than Illusionist
  • Do most of their damage through reactives
  • Get Mindbend.  With all AA's put into the improved version in the Coercer AA line this is by far one of my most useful spells in PvP.  It's a reactive that stuns the target up to 5 times for every spell/ca they cast.
Note: My Coercer is only level 60 so other than that I can't really help.  I do know they get some more cool things.

Personally I like my Coercer more than my Illy.

While he got most of it correct, this is way off. Most of the illusionist dps comes from 2 spells. Procs do indeed help a lot and are very important, but they never do most of the dps.

Thanks , I decided to go Coercer in the end SMILEY
