Hello,

 

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Olihin.  I will be focusing my time on the Player vs. Player (PvP) aspect of our game.  

 

I have worked at SOE for over 7 years and enjoy playing on PvP servers when one is available in a game.  I started my time at SOE as a Game Master in EverQuest focusing on various Zek servers and have slowly worked my way to being able to help you, the members of our great EverQuest II PvP community.   

 

I would like to make sure everyone understands that our team is passionate about making our game the best play experience you have.  That goes without saying in all aspects of our game, but I know that we still need some focus on how changes in the game affect our PvP way of life. 

 

A few leads in what direction to focus (in no particular order):

 

  • Immunity Issues
  • Itemization for PvP
  • PvP Writs
  • Respawn Locations
  • Status and Faction systems
  • Spell effects in PvP
  • Potions

There are many that I am sure we can come up with, but all will require a lot of discussion to make sure we do not make bigger problems for all of us.  I can honestly say that there will be a lot of work ahead and I look forward to working with our team and our PvP community to make changes that will greatly benefit everyone.

Hallelujah! We have a dev! Best news I've heard in a long time. Can't wait to see where this goes. Just don't forget about your community! I, for one, would love to work closely with you and others in order to resolve issues that have been troubling PvP for a long time. There are a lot of complaints at the moment, so it will probably be a bit overwhelming at first, but I'm sure there are several of us who would love to make suggestions and have discussions about current and future PvP. This is great!

Please do not listen to 95% of the posts on these forums, as they will lead to aeralik type changes (ala fame changes etc...)

 

PvP focus feedback forum = win, get it started now.

Fame is definitely the last thing on my mind. The game needs a lot more than fame to make it as diverse and skill based as it could and should be.

Ok seriously, start a poll on these topics, then have threads specifcally dedicated to them and stickied.

  • Game mechanics
  • Spells/CAs in PVP
  • Resist rates
  • Class balance
  • PVP DPS output
  • PVP HPS output
  • Autoattack damage
  • Control effects
  • Control effect immunities
  • Upgrading potions
  • One shots and you

I dont care about fame but the idiotic whiners on this forum pretty muched caused the fail pvp system we have in place right now, it was used as an example and please for the love of allah dont let it happen again.

Hello. This is the start of something big.

Please don't make ANY changes until you do the following in this order:

Create level 80 toons with T2 gear and Adept3 spells play each for 25 hours running around finding PVP fights on Nagafen:

Start with a Swash/Brig get a feel for tracking and everything they do.

Move on to a Necro/Conj

Go to a Ranger/Assassin

Make a few more casters of your choice

Make SK/Pally

Create some polls for the community to give feedback on your findings.

  • Itemization for PvP - Everything needs to be upgraded. Period.
  • PvP Writs - Tokens should be body drops, whether constant or rare.
  • Respawn Locations - Could prevent zerging.
  • Status and Faction systems - Can make pvp even better.
  • Spell effects in PvP - Wizards can one shot people. One shots should be tonned down.
  • Potions - Not sure which way you'll be going on this.

There are many that I am sure we can come up with, but all will require a lot of discussion to make sure we do not make bigger problems for all of us.  I can honestly say that there will be a lot of work ahead and I look forward to working with our team and our PvP community to make changes that will greatly benefit everyone. 

FINALLY. Only took 3 years. My proposal, a open live discussion. While most idea's are in fact stupid and should be ignored. Listening to the public can get a better idea for the changes needed.

You are most welcome here my friend. Warms my heart and gives us PvP'ers hope that we can sculpt this fanatstic game into an even better one.

Generally speaking I think there are alot of intelligent sugestions posted on these boards by players who have understand the current game experience and I trust you will be able to identify the more crucial ones.
