Changing the CS from India back to US doesn't really seem to have changed much does it?
Ok i have made many posts this is just a reminder that i still cant get my vc to work
i have windows vista home premium service pack 2
processor is intel(r) Xeon(r) cpu 2.80 ghz
32-bit operating system
this is on a mac-pro using bootcamp
I have satilite internet with wildblue 1.5 mps
My router is a Linksys WRT54GS v7.5 build 002 (i upgraded the firmware in an attempt to get vc to work ... no luck)
I have MacAfee internet secuirty (I went in and opened and allowed the vivox on the firewall- no luck) (turned the firewall off -- no luck)
My usb head set is a microsoft Life Chat (i have posted in the station forums and listed the confiruration there also) I unplugged this and replugged it in -- no luck)
I hope all the info i have posted (both in the past and now) will help you find the problem and get a fix for it.
Thanks
For those with USB headsets, try this workaround. It's worked for me two nights running now. Probably coincidence but its worth trying:
Open voice options and select <default> for both mic and speakers. Deselect the voice client then accept and "OK" back to the game. Re-open the voice options and select the USB option for both mic and speakers. Then re-select the voice client as the final step before accepting and hitting OK to get back to the game.

Very well said DJWolf, and this is the problem. We were able to use the game just fine before voice chat BUT we were all in the same boat then! Most of us would use a ventrillo server for grouping at the very least and sometimes just for guild conversation. But now ... people can talk and carry on without us. Most of them don't even have ventrilo installed and it is an annoyance for them to log on to a vent server when they can talk just fine in voice chat.
In our guild most of the members have intermittant problems but all 3 of the guild founders have major problems. The result? The guild is currently severed because the leaders cannot interact with the members. We cannot schedule events, we cannot hear their general conversation to find out what is happening and how things are going. We have given SOE until the end of this week to fix things and then we will get another vent server. If this is not used by the majority of people then I doubt that I will be keeping my subscription and that is not a threat but a fact.
I do not have a USB headset, I do not have a router, voice does not work on my PC even with my firewall down. I will not even bother with a petition because the likely result will be some standard answer telling me to check my firewall or make sure my mic is plugged in.
The biggest problem with in-game voice-chat is the obnoxious guild officer who demands to be listened every moment he's online and who gets very angry when people try to avoid him and refuse to use voice-chat.
Hi guys, I'm sorry we haven't had more frequent updates, but we've been waiting on a new drop of voice files from Vivox.
We have an updated voice API which fixes some issues with USB headsets as well as 5 or more different crash conditions.
Unfortunately the earliest we can hotfix will be Tuesday. As much as we hate going through the weekend with these voice problems, we cannot risk a hotfix without proper QA time.
Again, sorry for the problems. We know you guys are being extremely patient.
Hi guys,
I just wanted to update this thread.
We have new binaries (DLLs and EQ2VoiceService.exe) from Vivox that we'll be hotfixing next week. These new binaries resolve several EQ2VoiceService crashes that players were experiencing. Also, there is a fix coming next week that should resolve some problems using USB headsets and other non-default devices.
I apologize for not being able to get the fixes out sooner. Hopefully they will resolve the problems that you're reporting!
So there is no Hotfix for all the people who are having Connectivity issues as your last reply states nothing of any Connectivity issues being fixed. Just hotfix for USB headsets and for peoples clients that are crashing.
Most of the peoples problems here Cant connect to channels, I'm only assuming from your last reply that the next hotfix wont cover this issue?
I have an update that I'd like feedback on from the rest of you guys. I haven't mentioned it before because I wasn't certain where the fault was coming from.
I'm online now, as you can see, and my internet connection is fine. In a little while, after dealing with my mail and other things I will log onto the game. Within seconds of me being in game not only do I not get voice chat and accessing 'options' will cause a lag I will no longer be able to access anything else on the net. If I minimise the game or play windowed, my internet connection icon on my taskbar says 'local and internet' but all internet connectivity other than EQ2 is gone. Any attempt to look up a quest on wikia or Alakazam results in an internet connection fault.
When I log off the game I can't use the internet and must reboot my machine. ipconfig/all results in 'media disconnected' for almost everything and rebooting my machine with 'restart' only fixes it momentarily - within seconds of a restart I have lost connection again. To get internet connectivity back I have to recycle my modem, shut down my PC for a minute or two and then reboot.
For a while I thought it may have been something else and have worked through everything to determine the fault. It didn't happen on the day of the voice roll out and so I didn't blame that for the problem. When I first couldn't get voice I updated drivers for my ATI graphics card and my Asus Xonar sound card as well as the firmware for my modem. Consequently, I blamed one of these. However, since the fix is to not log onto EQ2 or to shut down the computer, recycle the modem and go and make a coffee before rebooting and that the problem doesn't occur then until I log onto the game I have now identified the culprit as EQ2.
Now I know that it was the 2nd, 3rd or 4th voice chat patch 'fix' that caused the conflict. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm hoping the fix for us is covered in "non-default devices" since I wasn't aware that there is such a thing as the 'default' brand. Because quite frankly, I've been asking around because I want to buy the 'default' brands but no one seems to know what they are.
Unfortunately, there goes the Friday night raid, the Sunday Night raid and the weekend of double experience. Is there a reason why we must suffer another 4-5 days? Is SOE concerned about the risk that this 'fix' will destroy voice chat for the majority who have it working and so have made the decision to do the patch on Tuesday morning when the least number of players are online so should early reports announce disaster a roll-back on this 'fix' can be executed with a minimum of disruption?
An update on my issue...almost as soon as I posted about it here, the problem went away and I was able to chat normally for a few days. Then the problem came back, and now a different character is the only one who can join voice chat channels.
Hi folks,
I have some new expeiences going on ingame. Since Wednesday VoiceService has been trying to do "something". I get the same message 'failure to connect 1071 - 1072 depending, which is persistant, but suddenly I am swimming in soup. My CPU is spiked and the VoiceService memory usage hits the roof. I have had to reboot the game to fix this.
Now I am seeing folks crashing from the game. Last night we had four people crashing in WoE constantly and cancelled the raid. They have voice chat working, but are crashing. When VoiceService creates the huge lag spike for me I do not crash, possibly because my machine can handle that, but perhaps others do not have a machine that can manage that sort of lag and it crashes them. If this is so, then do they actualy have the same problem we here are having? All of us here never had VoiceService working and I wonder if it is not a different problem altogether.
These thoughts redirect me to this fix on Tuesday for those who are crashing and not for those without ingame voiceservice.
Everything seems to magically work for me as of a few days ago (not that I test often). The week before I was unable to get in any group or pre made channels, and the week before that could not get in any at all. Now all my customs and group work fine. I was using a USB headset (wireless) so it's not 100% USB issue people mentioned earlier in the thread.
My voice chat is still not working also, and while I try to get it working by enabling voice chat my webpages don't load and other things stop working with my internet. When I turn it off, it works again.
Everything worked before the monuments updatethen it stopped.
Hope your updates fix it soon.
