These changes are great, BUT is the cost for these places going to go up? IS it going to cost me more to keep my current place in game? Is it goin gto cost more to buy these new updated places? OR, will the costs all remain the same?
I don't think they will raise the rent. Rent stabilization laws and all that. I also doubt the prices will change. Most of these places are now very cheap to buy since their prices haven't risen over the years with the in-game inflation. A small price increase for the extra room would hardly be worth introducing.
I doubt it seriously. When they added another room to Kelethin last year, the price did not change. I would find it very unlikely if they did that.
I can't thank you enough for the windows in Kelethan!!! I have always ended up moving my Kelethan characters to Qeynos because of the housing problems there Kelethan has always been my favorite city. If I may so boldly ask? Please please please add a outdoor area/garden in the large Kelethan homes PLEEEEAAAASSE?

I'm curious about two things on the extra room.
1) Where will it be in the 5 room manor in Qeynos,
2) How large will it be?
Depending on the answers to these questions, I may need to re-design my manor.

I can't wait!
I don't think the rent will be changed. Usually the devs make stuff better for us as a kind of reward, besides don't we live in rent controlled housing?

There's been a lot of posts requesting courtyards so I'm droppin' a line to give our 2c.
We're pretty much convinced we want to build them for y'all - it's just a matter of when. It's not a simple addition, particularly if we were to allow the camera to zoom fully out and have somewhat accurate views (there will likely be some compromise when it comes to wall height/view/camera issues if we can do them) but know that we're adding it to our want-to-do list.
In the short term, the room/item count upgrades are our priority and by comparison, are far far easier so we're starting there. We're knee deep in Expansion and other Live work so we'll see where we are a bit further down the road.
Since it was brought up as well - we haven't locked down a release date for the current additions we're still working on, but we're hoping to have it to y'all as soon as possible!
Awesome! Keep us updated please, really looking forward to these changes.

Oh I would be so happy to have a courtyard on my 4 Bayle house. Any chance of having the little storage room enlarged just a bit? Right now, I call it my wee wee room and use the moppet midget maker on myself when I want to use it. Thanks for all the coming changes.
Yay! Thank you! Just to hear that it could "maybe" happen someday is wonderful

Hey allI wanted to jump in here and provide some clarification and further information about what we're doing. We're adding another room to -every- player housing layout that exists. Neriak, Gorowyn, Kelethin, Qeynos and Freeport are all getting more space. 1room homes are now 2room, etc. While we're doing this, we're trying to integrate a few long standing requests, such as windows in Kelethin homes - one we've personally been wanting to do for a while, but wanted to do right. Unfortunately, wall/floor customizations still aren't feasible outside of Qeynos and Freeport. So when it came to Kelethin, which needed the most love in my opinion, we didn't want to just add facade windows you couldn't see through to simply give the illusion of windows (the easier solution), so we're spending some time on creating a memory-wise setup of GFay giving you as accurate a view as possible without causing a large performance hit while in your home. Here's an image of where we're at.The views will be fairly accurate (i.e. from where the home is physically) on most Kelethin layouts, but the 2room home would have a terrible view of a mountain side if done accurately, so I'm making the call to provide a more interesting view for 2room home owners. In fact, what I'd like to do is swap the locations/zonepoints of the 2room home and Guild Hall zonepoints in Kelethin. We based the 2room view on the upper tier location (where the GuildHall is currently) since it was far nicer and would make the view more accurate if this change was made. We may use this same view for the 1room too as it's current location wouldn't provide much of a view. I didn't want to exclude the 1room homeowners from a view as a result of the homes location. As for the other homes, Gorowyn for example, we're adding a window to the additional room when appropriate. Neriak has opaque windows, which I would love to make translucent (and will see about doing when time allows - no guarantees yet), but for this initial pass, we're just adding another room. Qeynos and Freeport are getting another room as well, but the windows in these homes will remain as is.I can't comment on what is surely to follow, and has been mentioned already - item count - but do know that it is being discussed. When there is news, you'll definitely see a post!

For Neriak I would go with a view of an underground river from under the water with glowing crystals in the backdrop.
If I may make a suggestion about the Maj'Dul homes? For windows, I have always loved this picture.. Maybe we could see a few of these added? (Also, if we could get that room divider.. )

Ohh, that would be wonderful!
Another second for that Maj'dul looking window box and divider!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And a very sincere, heartfelt thanks to all of the devs and people behind the scenes working on all of these exciting additions for us home addicts. You ARE appreciated!!
Wooohoooo! Just knowing that the outdoor areas are being put on the burner (even the back one) is an encouraging step....
