In this case quality trumps all, so keep up the good work.

I'm curious, can this be hotfixed in?

All of my work can always be inserted relatively instantly... as long as we have good testing prior.

Actually, your game is already shader 3 ready.  Just needs the ON switch.  Once things are running smooth we'll turn it on.

The rat asks a good question!

Actually he doesn't it was answered a few posts back that it was set to hit the test server in november with a release of december 1st, hopes to be that is.

Asking everyday kiddies dont make it come quicker.

We are in November, and only 3.5 weeks from December for a change that includes updates to 416 zones and over 21,000 objects on a server with a limited population and serious memory leak problems at the moment. Asking about timeframes isn't particularly out of line, and neither is wanting to see these great changes.

No need to be insulting about it.

We are looking forward to seeing it all. It's a massive amount of work you did here!

I totally understand.  It "is" November and December is coming up quick.  I wish I could tell you before it hits the news, but decisions are always being made and if I say one thing then it's like a promise and I would get in huge trouble.  I can only repeat what's been announced already about release dates.  But I "can" tell you what part of the project I'm currently working on.  No harm in that.

And, just for fun, here's a Dragon Armor comparison video:

Can you show us a list of what you have been working on, and that you feel are comming along well? I remember you had a priority list of stuff you wanted to enhance, just wondering how it's going. SMILEY

Also, another round of screenshots would never hurt :p (PS: I know you like shiny armour, but what about mages\brawler armor? SMILEY)

EQII Quality Assurance is making their way through another round of testing.  I've got a few new bugs in my queue that I'm now working on.  All known major bugs are gone.  After the bugs are gone I have a fat performance update to make.  I can't say anything new about release dates yet, sorry.

well i just checked the test update notes for GU#54. unfortunately, there are no words about sharder 3.0 in it. does it mean, we won't get sharder 3.0 with the following GU as well?

Again, very nice work there.. and yea some more recent screen shots would rock!! I know you are busy but if it isn't too time consuming I am sure most would appreciate a little eye candy!!! I am also very interested in the Mage armor..

Thanks again and your very impressive work is most appreciated.. !!!

I've been following this very closely, and I share the disappointment in this not being in Gu54 at least right now.

The impression I'm getting from the various posts is that it's something that could be hotfixed between Gu54 and Gu55.

The changes should impact all armour. I suspect he is showing metal because it reflects a lot of light therefore it appears to have the most dramatic improvement.

I apologize i can see how my post came off rude however it just urks me that some peeps should really read before posting.

Such as above this posts there are a few saying "omg its not in the test notes!" when just a few posts up he stated its already on the servers it just needs turned on lol....which obviously wont require being on a GU.

Just plz read before posting, the guy is kind enough to stay in good communication with us.  Dont wanna see it spoiled by people asking the same question that has been answered a few times over and him getting annoyed.

The enhancements mentioned a while back are possible enhancements for the next year or so (likely 1 or 2 of them will be chosen).  They won't be started until I get Shader 3 ready for Live, the remaining GPU Shadow bugs addressed, and our tools updated for the new Shader 3.0 effects our artists are dying to make for new areas, objects, accessories, and armor.

I'll try and get some newer screenshots, especially for mages\brawlers.  And yes, I do like the shiny armor.  SMILEY

I don't mind a couple repeats, especially if it was answered more than a few pages back.  The thread is massive and I wouldn't expect anyone to read the whole thing unless you've been following along the whole time.  Most of the time you guys answer the repeats for me, hehe.
