First of all, Happy 4th!

This new feature is planned for GU53 and will grant the ability for players to essentially mentor themselves and experience the vast amount of older content within our game.

Several of our Fan Faire attendees (/high_five) asked if there were going to be any adjustments to some of the more potentially frustrating contested bosses and events--primarily ones with placeholders and a low chance of spawning--and I offered to create a thread for feedback on this.

If there are any specific older encounters that y'all feel are too rare, please post their name and zone here, and we will see how many we can look at to see if spawn-time improvements are in order.

A quick note: This thread is not for arguing about the difficulty of these encounters. Merely for feedback about the rarity, or lack thereof. Please just give us a list of the encounters you feel deserve a 2nd look rather than commenting on, or disagreeing with other players' lists.

Thanks!

It's been a while, but first on my list would have to be Agony, Hukulan, Kaxor, Xilarga and Tzugaax, the named mobs required for the Screaming Mace HQ.

I would agree. Also the named rat for the manastone HQ.  Both of these encounters were changed so that if you had already scribed/completed these quests you couldn't get the starters. This led to them being ridiculously expensive on the broker due to how long they take to spawn.  The last time I did Screaming Mace for an alt was about 15 months ago because I couldn't stand the thought of farming a starter SMILEY

If we're wishing, some sort of lavastorm-esque teleporter to Cazic-Thule's Temple would rock. The zone is underused as it takes a good ten minutes to run though to it.

Book of Life and Book of Death along with the 3 named in Varsoons that were required for access quest for Varsoon's Chamber. There is also "The Creator".

Granted, these mobs actually are on a 15 min respawn timer, but they do not always pop. If people will be achievement hunting these mobs, I can see it being very difficult for other people to complete those quests/HQs.

One of the more annoying quests I've done recently was waiting over an hour real-time on npc Dannian Blackleaf to spawn in Nek Forrest so I could complete "The Owlbear Menace" quest.

Killing the owlbears is quick and easy and the reward for completion is meager commensurate with the ease of the quest. The problem is that the npc that you need to hail to complete the quest is frequently not spawned.

You can't kill Dannian Blackleaf, he's just one of the npcs near the entrance to the Bloodline Chronicles instances. (maybe he figures into some other quest and that's why he's often not spawned.)

So, he's not a contested boss, but he is a slow spawning npc needed to complete a quest that auto-mentored people might be attempting.

Might aswell do every t5 Constested epic, these mobs are only killed for AA nowdays so dont need 3-4 day timers or whatever they are, Since they was giving 15% aa (I think) or so at 190 aa on my wiz they are fairly good to push aa up.

Prob 1-2days be better, Not sure what current timers are though since im ive never raided in t5.

Just finding them up was a pita.

Not a contested mob but Chomper in EL, I killed its placeholder 6 times before he popped with a time of 10 mins between each spawn.
