If there's one thing I've enjoyed out of this NOTD event, it's the hedge maze. More specifically, it's the fact that you get turned into a 14 foot werewolf and you end up fighting a 20 foot werewolf as the boss of the zone.
The first time I did the zone, I got a thrill over the fact that they decided to make you really gigantic to pit you against someone else who was really gigantic.
Sometimes, just making everything LARGER in comparison to your surroundings adds to the fun value.
It's just not the same when you're at normal size and fighting normal enemies.
It's also not the same when you're fighting a mob who's larger than normal and makes you just feel dwarfed in comparison, unless it's a mob who's suppose to be gigantic like Tarinax or Leviathan.
But when you become bigger to fight something else that's bigger (The spirit dragon from Halls of Fate, the prisoners from Anchor of Bazzul, The Hedge Maze, and a few others where you're transformed or inhabit something else,) then I can take enjoyment from that.
The Godzilla feeling keeps me excited and lets me see things in a much grander scale when I play. I think the developers should keep this in mind for future events.

Maybe sometimes, but I generally don't like being morphed into something else and really hate being made bigger without being morphed into something else.
huh? i did that maze and whilst i turned huge, i still remained very much an Iksar..
You probably have your illusion form hidden.
I liked it but only as a very very rare happening.

I liked how it looked, but it made running around the hedge a bit difficuilt. I think it would've been a little better if we transformed once the moon was out in the little cut scene rather than when we dropped ubercharm.
The moon is actually out during the whole maze. It just gets focused on and some clouds and stuff added during the cutscene.
How about no cutscenes after the first time or at least the ability to disable them.
They are novel the first time but if you are going to grind those instances they are added timesinks and rhythm breakers.
I just wish there was some message on screen that actually stated that you were turned into a werewolf. You fight that infected wolf at the start, but what if it doesn't hit you? Why do you still get infected? There was no warning message or announcement of any kind.
Actually you got it off that frictionless coin... shoulda washed it off before biting to test if it was real
Without completely recoding the way the boss works I can't make the cutscene at the end able to be skipped. I do have it on my list as something to change for next year though.

As I understand it, the infection comes from the wolf (the dialog at the end of the quest implies as much to me). However, it's the coin that triggers the transformation, presumably something about your emotional response getting enhanced and in turn fueling the infection.
The wolf infecting you also cleanly explains why you get buffed from every kill in the zone, and not just post-coin kills.
Admittedly, I only knew I got infected by talking to the shaman after I finished the quest the first time around - I, too, had assumed the coin was the werewolfification source. A couple very-lost runs later I wondered about how they balanced people doing a lot of kills before going werewolf with people that grabbed werewolf quickly and then cleaned up the zone, which lead me to realize you get buffs from every kill after the wolf (I never checked the wolf kill itself) regardless of pre- or post-coin.
You get the buff at the very moment you click the tree at the entrance of the maze. Regardless if the wolf can hit you or not. And you get stronger for every single enemy you kill afterwards. The coin only triggers the illusion, not the buff itself
