Question for Australian based players

I am curious as to what ping other players from Australia(like me) get?

I am considering changing ISP's and am curioius to know who uses what(ISP & connection), a rough idea of where they are located and what their ping is like.

I am in central QLD and get 202-220 on Markov, 290-350 on Emerald. I know others from Aus are getting better pings than me so am curious to find out if it is their ISP, connection speed or location thats making the major difference.

Unfortunatley I do not have ADSL 2 in my area yet and the fastest I can get is min 1500/256 kbps - max 8000/384 kbps. Atm I am on 1500/256 kbps.

i get about 180 to 220 ping on markov emmy is about 250-300 and i got 1500kbs...i think thats right...using adsl and im goldcoast qld

As I use internode as well I guess that tells me I probably ain't gonna get a better ping with a dif ISP and IF it gives me any improvement by goin to the 8000kbs like your on it won't be that much of a notieceable improvement to bother with.

It looks like my higher ping(compared to other Aus players) is more due to my location than anything else =/

I get 120 playing from NY so having less than twice that coming from Australia is pretty good.

I must be in a good spot.

I get between 55 and 75ms to Emerald and Markov and I get around 150ms to Werner.

you get that ping from australia?

what ISP do you use, where are you and what type of connection do you have? and are you using ping lowering software?

I get 220-240 from Hobart, Tasmania on Internode 8Mb ADSL.

Not bad for the forgotten state ...
