Prepare to have super fun. Stay in host hotel. Bring your camera. Get Guildies to go. Attend the workshops.
Vegas tips:
Plan to stay up late. Buy monorail passes. Visit "downtown". Prepare for HOT weather. Take shuttles from airport to hotel and back.
Misc. tips:
Give Ashlane & Brenlo Kudos. Grab a table (bring banners) for your guild/server at the diners. Enjoy!
Calthine, from Zam, has a great guide for preparing for Vegas.
By the way, I just saw that Brenlo is now the producer of EQ2. Is he still going to be the MC at the Fan Faire? He takes abuse so well, I'd hate to have to break in a new one.
PRO TIP: Don't go if you're expecting anything MxO related!

not the best photos, but you can see some of the 'pink shirt' contests from the last 2 fan faires at my webpage

If you are Rollercoaster enthusiast (ACE), there are many good ones to check out.
The NY skyline coaster was nice. There were a couple that you could get off and re-ride over and over without getting another ticket, too.
Circus Circus has a bunch all in one spot. Though, one of them banged my knees around on the hard plastic in front of me.
The NASCAR race simulator was a bit uncooperative, yet I still came in 2nd from a group of 8.
Unfortunately, you couldn't just use the Monorail to get to them all. Some hoofing it and some busing was needed.
Prepare yourself for VERY little sleep. You can catch up when you get home.
Participate in as many things as you can. Seriously. Panels, live quests, ALL the parties, tournaments. You're spending a lot of money to go, get as much as you can out of the experience.
AFTER PARTIES! Check out the hotel bars after all the official events are over. You will meet VERY cool people, and usually the devs are there partying too. You get to know them a lot better at after parties than you do at the official stuff.
My final tip, you should always buy the cute redheads drinks. Lots of drinks. (Please note, I am, indeed, a cute redhead. LOL.)
