Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules. The Sony Online Entertainment Legends of Norrath Online Trading Card Game (“Game”) World Championship Tournament (the “Challenge”) begins at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) on August 13, 2009, continues at 10:00 a.m. (EST) on August 14, 2009 and shall end upon conclusion of the final round of the World Championship Tournament on August 15, 2009 ("Challenge Period"). The Challenge is sponsored by Sony Online Entertainment LLC, 8928 Terman Court, San Diego, CA 92121 (the “Sponsor”). Employees of Sony Online Entertainment LLC, its parent or subsidiary companies, or any other company involved in the design, implementation, or promotion of the Challenge, as well as the spouses, children, parents, grandparents, and household members of each such employee, are not eligible. The Challenge is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law.
Eligibility: Challenge is open only to natural persons, eighteen (18 ) years or age or older at time of entry, who qualify for a seat through a World Championship Qualifier Tournament or qualifier rounds of the Challenge, and are physically present for the duration of the Challenge at the Gen Con Indy 2009 event scheduled to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana between August 13-16, 2009. Persons who are not physically present at the Challenge are ineligible to enter, participate, or win. Void wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Employees, officers, directors, and agents of Sponsor, its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, their immediate family members and persons living in their same household, are not eligible to participate in the Challenge. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
How to Enter: Entrants must secure a seat in the Challenge through a World Championship Tournament Qualifier Tournament held prior to Gen Con Indy 2009 or through qualifying rounds of the Challenge scheduled for August 13, 2009 and August 14, 2009, to be held at Gen Con Indy 2009. World Championship Qualifier Tournaments can be found on the Game’s Events Calendar website (located at http://legendsofnorrath.station.son...nts_calendar.vm). Entrants must comply with the applicable End User License Agreement, Station Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and all Game rules, regulations, and policies. Entrants not complying with these requirements will be disqualified. Any attempt at entry except as above stated is void.
Determination of Winner: Challenge will be organized according to the Standard Constructed Match Play (e.g. best two (2) of three (3) games) Single Elimination tournament format (for explanations on official forms of Legends of Norrathtournaments, visit our tournaments page at http://legendsofnorrath.station.son...ftournaments.vm). The top two (2) players from each of the qualifying rounds during the initial two (2) days of the Challenge will progress to the final day of the Challenge; the final day will be a match play (e.g. best two (2) of three (3) games) Single Elimination tournament where, at the end of four (4) rounds of gameplay, the top two (2) players will compete against each other in a single, winner-take-all match play (e.g. best two (2) of three (3) games) final to determine the ultimate player. A player may only qualify for the World Championship Tournament only one time and using only one account. Additionally, each player may only enter the Challenge using one account. If a winner is unable to comply with the terms contained herein, an alternate winner (e.g. the participant with the next highest number of total points) will be designated. The winners will be displayed (subject to Sponsor guidelines, standards, and practices, and in a manner and location determined by Sponsor in its discretion) on the http://station.sony.com website and/or any other SOE-related website in Sponsor's sole discretion.
Description of Grand Prize: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be selected. Grand Prize consists of: Ten Thousand Dollars (US$10,000.00), a full set of a Legends of Norrath set of the winner’s choice (excluding loot cards) (US$0.00), theLegends of Norrath World Championship Tournament trophy (US$0.00) and the winner’s likeness depicted on a Legends of Norrath card in a future Legends of Norrath release (US$0.00). (Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of Grand Prize is: US$10,000.00).
Description of Second Place Prize: One (1) Second Place Prize Winner will be selected. Second Prize consists of: Five Thousand Dollars (US$5,000.00), a full set of a Legends of Norrath set of the winner’s choice (excluding loot cards) (US$0.00),the second place trophy (US$0.00) and the winner’s likeness depicted on a Legends of Norrath card in a futureLegends of Norrath release (US$0.00). (ARV of Second Prize is: US$5,000.00)
Description of Third and Fourth Place Prizes: One (1) Third Place Prize and One (1) Fourth Place Prize Winner will be selected. Each Third Place and Fourth Place Prize consists of: One Thousand Dollars (US$1,000.00), and the winner’s likeness depicted on a Legends of Norrath card in a future Legends of Norrath release (US$0.00). (ARV of Third and Fourth Prize is: US$1,000.00).
Description of Fifth through Eighth Place Prizes: One (1) Prize Winner for each place, Fifth through Eighth, will be selected. Each Fifth through Eighth Prize consists of: Five Hundred Dollars (US$500.00) (ARV of each of the Fifth through Eighth Place Prizes is: US$500.00).
Description of Ninth through Sixteenth Place Prizes: One (1) Prize Winner for each place, Ninth through Sixteenth, will be selected. Each Prize consists of: Two Hundred Fifty Dollars (US$250.00) and 20 Legends of Norrath booster packs (US$59.80). (ARV of each of the Ninth through Sixteenth Place Prizes is: US$309.80).
Description of Seventeenth through Thirty-Second Place Prizes: One (1) Prize Winner for each place, Seventeenth through Thirty-Second, will be selected. Each Prize consists of: Two Hundred Fifty Dollars (US$250.00) and 10 Legends of Norrath booster packs (US$29.90). (ARV of each of the Seventeenth through Thirty-Second Place Prizes is: US$279.90).
Each winner, First Place through Thirty-Second Place will receive one (1) “Choose Your Loot” card from a Legends of Norrath set.
General Limitations for all Prizes: No alternative prize, cash, or other substitution is permitted except by Sponsor in the event of prize unavailability. Prizes are non-transferable. All federal, state, and local taxes are the sole responsibility of winner. Based upon the criteria listed above, up to thirty-two (32) prizes will be awarded. Total ARV of the Prizes if thirty-two (32) prizes are awarded: US$25,956.80. The potential winners will be identified upon conclusion of the final round of the Challenge. Each potential winner will have five (5) days from notification to accept the prize by e-mail or by U.S. mail to the address specified in the notification. Prizes will be delivered within approximately six (6) to eight (8 ) weeks of verification/confirmation of winners.
Requirements of Winner: Each winner will be required to sign and return releases of liability, declarations of eligibility, and where lawful, publicity consent agreements, within five (5) days of acknowledged notification. By agreeing to become a winner and/or accepting and/or using a prize, the winner agrees to the use of his or her name, voice and/or likeness, for the purpose of advertising, trade, or promotion by Sponsor without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. If a selected potential winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible (under these rules or due to a failure to comply with any of the other applicable policies, licenses, rules, and terms of service), or fails to timely return the completed and executed releases/agreements as required, potential winner status may be forfeited and an alternate potential winner may, at Sponsor’s discretion, be designated.
General Terms and Conditions: By participating in the Challenge, you are granting Sponsor an irrevocable right and license to publish, use, edit, and display any or all of the details of your participation, including your player name, without further approval, without territorial, time, or other limitations, for any and all purposes, including, but not limited to, marketing, advertising, and promotional purposes. By participating in the Challenge, entrant agrees that under no circumstances, including, but not limited to, negligence, shall Sponsor, its officers, directors, employees, shareholders, agents, successors, and assigns (the “Released Parties”) be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out participation in the Challenge, even if any or all of the Released Parties have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, therefore such exclusions may not apply to you. By participating in the Challenge, entrant waives any and all rights to bring any claim or action related to his/her participation in any forum beyond one (1) year after the first occurrence of the kind of act, event, condition or omission upon which the claim or action is based. By entering, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any person that Sponsor determines to be in violation of any term contained in these Official Rules. Sponsor, its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, and the respective employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, and representatives of each, are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, interruptions or difficulties of any kind; (ii) failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions; (iii) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor that may cause the Challenge to be disrupted or corrupted; (iv) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result from participation in the Challenge or arising from the entrant’s access to and use of the Internet site http:// station.sony.com (and all related websites of Sponsor), including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy, to the extent permitted by law; or (v) any errors in any materials associated with the Challenge. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Challenge if any problem corrupts the administration, security, or operation of the Challenge, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Challenge or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Challenge may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
Disputes: Challenge is governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Indiana. As a condition of participating in the Challenge, entrant agrees that any and all actions or proceedings related to the Challenge shall be exclusively brought in the County of San Diego, State of California (if under state law) or the Southern District of California (if under Federal law), and the parties agree not to raise in connection therewith, and hereby waive, any defenses based upon the venue, the inconvenience of the forum, the lack of personal jurisdiction, the sufficiency of service of process or the like in any such action or suit brought in the State of California.
Winner List and Official Rules: A winner’s list will be posted on the web site at http:// station.sony.com, or an underlying page thereto, on the World Wide Web at the conclusion of the Challenge. Requests must be received no later than December 31, 2009.
