I'm sad to announce that the Officer's Salute is officially dead. It may one day rise again like Lazarus, but our systems cannot currently handle the amount of data needed to process this feature.
While I will continue to look for ways to get this feature back to the website and forums, for now it is dead.

what is the officers salute. Was it a ability for pvp?
I honestly think SWG needs an overhaul on everything, servers, system, graphics, etc. If the system can not handle something that was trying to be implemented, then an update needs to happen.

I am sure you guys will get this working again as a side effect of the upcomming PVP and GCW update, as I hope you will revisit the whole GCW point and rank system at the time you work on the GCW.

What data increase did this game increase elsewhere to give this a boot to the curb? Obviously, it worked fine before. I think people here, especially myself, would like a straight up answer as to where the system lost it's capability to produce something that it used to before.
