When I group with other players for instances or RP events, frequently there will be two or three group members whose profession icon will be golden instead of white. Also, when I move my mouse over the icon in question, it will show as an "Advanced" profession. Ex - "Advanced Commando" will show up instead of "Commando."

I'm just assuming that this is a certian buff or number of buffs, as I've seen a gold icon revert to a white icon at least once, but I've never been able to get a definite answer. Can anyone tell me exactly what having an "Advanced" profession means?

When you go into an instance be it the new ones or older ones like on mustafar, it increases the difficulty of them.

No!!! It doesn't do anything! It has NO affect on difficulty! It's a minor alteration that serves no purpose. Please, it does nothing and is just for looks.

*Edit* it!! This is NOT true, its simply a graphic you can choose to use if you feel like it.  It has nothing to do with instance difficulty!

You can change between the advanced and regular icons via clicking the profession icon next to your name.

LIES. But that would be dámn cool though.

It is a relic from the CU, where you had an icon-specific "role" based on your profession mix, and you could change it depending on what you planned on doing. It was a helpful way for group members to see how you planned on contributing. It means nothing now.
