Collections which state that you will receive "A small/medium/large amount of XP" as part of the reward for completion aren't just for combat players! The XP is granted to you regardless of your profession. That's right, crafters and entertainers can partake of these as well. The actual amount of XP awarded is dependent on your profession.

One simple collection, which grants a medium amount of XP, is the Dust Durni collection that can be completed without any combat on the new Nova Orion space station.

Another XP-granting collection is the Datapad Collection--which is the 2nd part of the three collections started with the "Tatooine Collector" in Mos Eisley. (That is the collector the chapter 7 publish reward took you to.) You can do that quests even if you didn't get C3P0's Comlink publish reward from Chapter 7--you just don't get the reward paintings but you do get the badge and XP. The second part has you kill three different types of very low-level NPCs just outside the city and grants small amount of XP. Note that crafters and entertainers don't get the XP from killing the NPCs, but do receive the reward XP once the collection is completed.

This offers crafters and entertainers a little relief on how they can gain experience--and can provide some diversion as well. Not all collections grant XP, but those that do can give you a boost and get you out of the cantina/shop for a whileSMILEY

Nice find.  That should provide a nice break from the usual Structures grind.  Not a full replacement but a nice distraction.

Nice tip. Any idea how much XP these give and if the XP limitation (no more than 1/2 XP needed for level) is on them?

I don't mind the concept of trader and entertainer Only Collections.

But lets be honest.  Tomorrow i can log in and respec my medic to engineer.  By Friday I am a CL90 (due to the fact I have a job).  Or I choose Entertainer and then fly to Mensix Cantina for Pei Ye and Calypso, fly back to my Mustifar Bunker; type /macro dance and equip a slitherhorn.  In 26 hours I am a CL90 Entertainer and ready to go for drama or artiste.

Leveling as a Non-Combat character has never been easier.

And in defense before anyone slams or flames me.  I have an Elder Artisan on Intrepid and an Elder Dancer on Ahazi as well as a Master Engineer on Intrepid....so I have done the grind pre and post NGE.

I think for entertainers and traders, all combat xp should be shunted into Pilot xp.  You killed something....your a better fighter and tactician as a result of winning.

There should be more content for Dancers and Crafters.

To be fair.......the current Entertainer collection is a mindless grind....kinda like the kill collections in space.

I want to see collections that don't have you be required to grind out 250+ of a certain tier or multiple piece collection...........or 75 of a Certain Named Type in that tier.....

Mind numbing grinds and difficult content were the Reason that Lec made SOE develop the NGE and push it live.  At least they told us we wanted a simpler game.

I don't see this being a simpler game in every respect.

regards.........
