Everytime I tell someone I am using a Combat Entertainer, they usually follow up with a chuckle... Until I fight them...

I've spent a great deal of time focused on Combat Entertainer. I've had one since Pub5 was launched and I have been toying with everything I could with it. Now that I am free of a lot of the Commando focus I was pushing, I have time to return to my Entertainer and finish my project... My Ultimate Entertainer

I wrote a little bit about it on my blog, and I plan to lay out everything that I know, from the basics to the extremes, so if any of you are interested to learn more about how I view things as far as combat and Entertainer are concerned, read up on my studies at http://www.mastercosmo.com/

My Combat Entertainer Project - Part 1, The Character and Armor Selection

My first of many parts focuses primarily on the birth of my toon and the armor I selected.

My Combat Entertainer Project - Part 2, The Weapons

Here is part 2 of my project. Read all about my thoughts on weapons and how to best go about deciding your artillery!

My Combat Entertainer Project - Part 3, The Expertise and...

Here is part 3! This talks about my expertise (and yes it's more complicated being a good Combat Ent than you think), and about my... just read to find out my decision

My Combat Entertainer Project - Part 4, The Mods

Part 4 is now here. I touched on my mods I will be using and the importance of Glancing Blow and how to make the best of it.

My Combat Entertainer Project - Part 5, New Mods

Part 5 is released. I changed up my mods from what I was planning. I felt you should all see what I'm planning

My Combat Entertainer Project - Part 5.1, Play Style Change

Part 5.1 is out now. I wanted to quickly post a new process I'll be following in a few weeks to keep your eyes open!

My Combat Entertainer Project - Part 6, A Poll!

Part 6 is just a quick poll. I want some information before I start my new Entertainer project. Thank you all

My Combat Entertainer Project - Part 7, The Buffs

Part 7 is specific to stacking the right buffs. Read here about the buff planning I have done and the route my next Combat Entertainer will take me

That is one thing I am persuing. BM Ent is extremely viable.

This will be interesting to see through. I'm currently doing the same thing myself at the moment.

i've played around with combat ent on live, i've rolled three, but i always end up grinding them for combat or deleting them.  i think i'm going to roll a combat toon, probably mando, so i can have a relatively easy grind to 90 and be reasonably assured to get on instance runs for a 5 piece heroism set.  then i can turn around and reroll to ent, i dunno.

the most pvp success i've had with it though, for viability and relative independence, is THIS template, so i can rely on armor, block, GB, CHD, and the second chance heal. and now with GU5 i can get a good, high DPS electric knuckler, so i'm really stoked.

the only thing i give up is unhealthy fixation really, and some minor damage boosts for some specials.

the armor set will be all recon, because i'll be toe to toe with a lot of jedi due to having no snare break, plus everyone is a dang jedi.

con/stam/strength (going with the strengths from expertise) in armor, strength/block chance/CHD for exotics.  my focus would be pvp as soon as i'm done here, so 2x block chance pups and one CHD pup.  hopefully i'll be blocking and glancing alot, and i chose CHD because with only strength my block value won't be crazy high, so blocking huge crits will be hard.  also for its help with glancing blow.

one weakness is going to be action costs, but i honestly don't expect to stay alive that long, lol.

i'll be interested to see what MC comes up with.

I actually had my friends roll a combat ent as his first toon so he could pvp with our guild, turns out combat ents are very usefull in pvp. Their unhealthy fixation stop anyone in their tracks and screws the rebels up pretty well.

My only pvping toon is a combat ent/bm on Flurry and I love it. A tad tough in large scale battles without an attentive medic, but 4-8 man runs to statics (must restock my stims a lot!!) is undeniably fun. Most people have no idea what class I am and tend to pay me no heed allowing that UF to land on medics at just the right moment. The element of surprise goes a looooong way.

I do however, constantly tweak pups and exotics, pet and their specials. Never seems to be enough action to please me. SMILEY Now if I could just convince the guildies to let me run Exar, I'd be a happy girl!

A good useful update. I personally made myself a Blasterist (because it was just accesible at the time). It came out at 1195 DPS, 90 coldand I had Unarmed Action Cost socketed into mine. Unfortunately at the time I didn't know about the Augs. So once I've done some heroica and hunted down some max augs and enhancers, I'll have a new one made I think
