Submitting tickets for free CTS related issues
If you experience any problems with your transfer, or have lingering questions or concerns that have not been covered here on the forums or in the Knowledge Base, please file them under the [SWG] Character Transfer: FREE CTS category, with one of the sub-categories listed below.

Filing the tickets in this category will help us with issue tracking and routing, and will help make this a smoother experience for all involved. We will activate this category and sub-category with the launch of the free CTS at 12:01AM PST on 01/13/2009. We have also re-labeled the regular character transfer category to [SWG] Character Transfer: Paid service to help differentiate between the two, and hopefully eliminate any confusion.
Requests to remove funds from City Halls on 'transfer from' servers
Customer Service will not be removing funds from a city hall's treasury unless the team can see a specific non-tax, non-travel deposit being made into the treasury by the ticketing player during the past few months. These cities are not going to be destroyed as a part of the free CTS offering, and the galaxies they are on will remain in service.
As an example; if we see that Bob-the-Mayor deposited 5 million credits on 11/23/08, then we would remove the funds from the treasury, and grant Bob-the-Mayor the 5 million. Bob would not get back the 6000 he's paid in income tax, nor would he receive the 1800 he paid in travel fees.
Requests for assistance with your character name
Customer Service recognizes that a character's name is important to the player behind it; not only because they may have crafted a special persona over a period of months or years, but also because of the instant recognition one has when amongst their friends or guild-mates. While we can not make specific promises to everyone, we are going to try and help out where a GM command or two may be able to take care of the situation, and make the experience better for all involved. Please keep in mind that our main focus is going to be on tickets where problems have been encountered with the transfer problem itself, and that these requests may take a bit longer to be responded to.
On the topic of names: we've heard and seen that some folks are using 'placeholders' to hold a name for themselves so that it will be available when they go to transfer. Customer Service does not condone the use of placeholders, and we ask that you please avoid their use, as it will only complicate the situation if Customer Service needs to get involved. If you've already created one, leave it in place: if one has been deleted, please note that in your ticket.
Reports of players intentionally 'holding' character or PA names to prevent another player/group from using them.
Customer Service has received several reports of this happening with both character names and guild names and tags. The team is going to be looking out for this sort of activity, and action (up to and including suspension) may be taken against a player's account if it is found that they have intentionally created a name or PA with the intent to block it from being used.
We are expecting an increased volume of tickets with this kind of event, so ticket response times may be a bit longer than they normally would be for some issues. We appreciate your patience and understanding during the event, and will do what we can to assist with any concerns you may have.
