Thanks to the hard work by Puttley, I was able to take what he provided me and add a few changes to get a formula that is very close to calculating the mitigation percent from a given Armor Value amount! It's been a long time coming and I am happy to report this to you guys today.
I logged the "armor values - mitigation" through in-game testing up to 20k recently. This graph below shows those numbers against the formula and you can see how very close it is.
If anyone is interested on the formula, it is:
90 * ( 1 - e(-0.000125 * AV) ) + AV / 9000
e is the mathematical number 2.71828182845904523536... etc. If you want to see this work in excel, the formula is
=90*( 1 - EXP(-0.000125*A1))+A1/9000
where A1 is the armor value you have.
If anyone has any questions or comments or possibly better solutions, post away!
*Note: The "Test" line shows the mitigation % by Armor Value that I logged from in-game testing with AnXieTyX. The "Formula" line shows what the mitigation % is based off of the formula above.
I hope everyone can understand this clearly.
Here's a quick breakdown (rounded for simplicity):
Armor Values Mitigation ------------ ---------- 1000 11% 2000 20% 3000 28% 4000 36% 5000 42% 6000 48% 7000 53% 8000 58% 9000 62% 10000 65% 11000 68% 12000 71% 13000 74% 14000 76% 15000 78% 16000 80% 17000 81% 18000 83% 19000 84% 20000 85%
I'm guessing Im going to need more than a regular ole calculator and PROBABLY more than a highschool educationto figure out what the F that formula means.
Nice graph though ... that would have been plenty I think.

It's never enough unless I explain where I got it from. I wouldn't be doing my job.
All most people need to know is that Armor Values can be turned into a Mitigation % now more accurately than ever before.
use the list at the bottom for something that will mean more to you
Good job. I'm guessing the slight skew in the actual numbers versus your formula is just rounding since it crosses your formula three times.

I made a mistake when gathering my data in-game to just round to the nearest % for ease of use for everyone. I'm assuming this is why. Most if the difference is 1% or less in most of the cases, but again, creating a formula from an result is tough... This is the best I can do for now
awsome to see, as always MC does a far better job than i ever could with laying the info. Hope it helps shed some light on a slightly more foggy area for the more curious of you.
Good job MC. Nice to see some actual numbers and data not just useless words.
When your guides go hardcover I'm buying a copy.
Nicely done!

I figured this was good enough to post and get feedback on. I wouldn't have got this far without ya so thank you /tiphat

2nd that idea!
Good job here MC! Keep on like this
just add the % back in IE Energy: 6000 (48%)
Good job as usuall MC
I found my old formula this morning, definately doesn't look the same. The result may be similar though.
